Yokohama

Yokohama is a large city that includes many things, making it similar to Tokyo or Osaka.  Yokohama is especially well known for its relatively large Chinatown.

Minato-Mirai (A.K.A. SakuraGiCho)

One station away from Yokohama is Minato-Mirai 21, which means "New Port" (for the 21st Century), and is a modern business district with fancy buildings and lots of cherry blossom trees. One of the buildings is Landmark Tower, the tallest building in Japan.  Besides the business offices, there are some museums to explore and high end hotels.  (SakuraGiCho, by the way, means "Cherry Tree Town").

Transportation
The easiest way to get to Yokohama from Tokyo is to take the Keihin-Tohoku line or Tokkaido line from Tokyo or Shinagawa.  If you want to go to Minato-Mirai from Tokyo without transferring to the subway at Yokohama, you can take the Keihin-Tohoku line to Sakuragicho and get off there.
