Akashi is perhaps in itself not that notable, being a relatively typical small down in Western Japan. However, it boasts the world's longest suspension bridge. The bridge, which looks something like the Golden Gate bridge in San Francisco (but bigger), connects the main Island of Japan to a smaller island. |
